The Human Resources Department is responsible for the Tribes personnel management which includes recruitment, employee relations, employee benefits program, salary administration, worker’s compensation, grievance and appeal system, and personnel records management. Human Resources provides assistance to Department Heads and Supervisors in developing, communicating, and implementing the Tribe’s personnel policies.

2023 Youth Worker

The purpose of the program is to provide job opportunities for young adults to prepare them with practical employability skills in a field of their interest and expose them to a potential career in Tribal Government. The targeted age group is 14 to 18 years of age and actively attending school. We are looking for 15 workers. The program is budgeted for 6 weeks up to 29 hours per week. Interviews will be conducted/scheduled the week of June 12th (to ensure we do not interrupt students’ academic schedule) and the employment dates are: June 19th to July 21st, 2023.
Brief summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs clerical, maintenance, or administrative assistance, depending on field of interest.
Maintains daily activity log.
Builds work skills with good attendance, cooperative attitude and work initiative.
Demonstrates interest in work assignments, uses good judgment, accepts supervision.
Attends orientation and meetings as requested. Prepares notes and submits to supervisor.
Learns aspects of the Paiute culture including history, language, current events and issues.
Attends workshops to develop employability skills.
Assists with computer input, operates common office machines.
Maintains a safe workplace by following safety rules and reporting unsafe work conditions.
Submits an essay on “Career Goals and the Value of Tribal Work Experience.”
Other related duties and tasks as assigned.
